How do I prevent fading and color transfer?
Answer
To prevent fading and color transfer of indigo items, avoid contact with light-colored fabrics, wash separately, and take care in wet conditions. Some color change is normal over time.
Details
Indigo-dyed and indigo items can transfer color through perspiration, friction, or moisture. To help prevent transfer: (1) avoid prolonged contact with light-colored clothing, bags, or upholstery; (2) take extra care in wet weather; and (3) wash separately from other items. While fading cannot be fully prevented, color release gradually stabilizes with repeated wear and washing. Color change is part of the character of these items—for more, please see the attention notes and care tag on the product page.
